Day 1 - Travel and Arrival

Left Houston around 4PM CST (GMT-6) and got to Frankfurt around 1:30 AM. That is about 8:30 AM Germany/Italy time. After a 4-hour layover, we took a small jet to Florence (Firenze) and arrived around 2:30. With three rented cars, 12 tired people reached the village of Ana in Chianti, Siena, Italy around 4:30PM. We got settled, and went into Lecce in Chianti, a near-by villiage, to eat at a nice restaurant named Something. We got strange looks ("Ha-HA, look at those silly Americans!!) because we had to drive "through" a party in order to park the cars (the party was outside, long tables and chairs on either side of the street, with just enough room for the cars to get through.) After dinner, and buying some supplies at a local grocer, we drug our tired bodies back to our villa.
